Xirrus LANPlanner

Overview

  • Pre-deployment Wi-Fi coverage planning of a Xirrus Array network
  • Models building structures and materials to predict RF coverage
  • Provides graphical views of predicted Wi-Fi coverage

Value Delivered

  • Determine approximate Array quantity and placement ahead of on-location site survey
  • Experiment with Array locations to optimize and shape Wi-Fi coverage
  • Reduce costs by simulating changes to the Wi-Fi network prior to implementation

Xirrus LANPlanner allows users to quickly and accurately model a building and predict Wi-Fi coverage and performance for the Xirrus Wi-Fi Array in that environment. LANPlanner is a Windows™ application that easily converts an existing AutoCAD, scanned, or traced drawing into a flexible 2D/3D model. The model can then be used to efficiently create, display, and document the wireless infrastructure plan. The unique performance characteristics for all Xirrus Wi-Fi Array models are supported.

The management of a Wi-Fi network begins with quality design. A poorly designed network will suffer from coverage holes, poor service areas, improper capacity and network resource allocation. These challenges can be addressed from the beginning with an efficient design leveraging Xirrus LANPlanner.
