Pierce County Public Transportation Deploys Xirrus Wi-Fi at Headquarters




The Pierce County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation was formed in 1979 when voters passed a 0.3 percent sales tax to fund public transportation. Pierce Transit's mission is to provide safe, courteous, reliable transportation services over a 414 square mile area in Washington State with an estimated population of 721,000. Pierce Transit is mobilizing its managers and project managers to improve productivity with a rollout of tablet PCs that will run its mission critical maintenance application. To this end, a powerful Wi-Fi solution is needed to wirelessly enable the tracking of parts and work orders throughout the facility.
