Although a site survey is not required before a wireless LAN setup and deployment due to our product's naturally intuitive next-generation wireless LAN architecture, there are some basic recommendations: there should be a minimum of fifty feet between each Wi-Fi Array, and although nothing prevents a vertical installation, the units are designed and optimized to be installed horizontally, and your WLAN will get the best performance with a horizontal wireless LAN setup. Additionally, while the Wi-Fi Array is designed to be installed indoors, an outdoor wireless LAN setup can be achieved with the Wi-Fi Array with a secure, weatherproof enclosure. The Xirrus' Centralized Management System enables IT managers to control up to 500 Wi-Fi Arrays either on a dedicated network appliance (the XM-3300), or as a software application (the XA-3300) loaded on an existing server in the IT closet. Our WLAN management system greatly simplifies large-scale wireless LAN setup and deployment, as it automatically discovers, authenticates, and configures new Wi-Fi Arrays as they join the network. Rounding out our family of next-generation wireless LAN equipment, the XP-3100 Remote DC Power System provides a power solution to facilitate wireless LAN setup when AC power is either unavailable or too costly to deploy. The XP-3100 easily fits into an existing IT closet rack and comes standard with one expansion module that can provide DC power to up to four Wi-Fi Arrays; the XP-3100 can, when fully populated with expansion modules, supply 48 volt DC power to a total for 12 Wi-Fi Arrays via standard CAT-5 data grade cable. Additionally, our Remote Power System can greatly decrease the costs associated with wireless LAN setup by providing an alternative to provisioning AC power.
