Frisco ISD Improves Digital Learning by Deploying Xirrus 802.11n Wireless Networking Arrays

Frisco ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas and the United States growing by 12-30 percent annually the past 10 years. Fisco ISD ended the 2008-2009 school year with approximately 31,000 students. The district is projected to have an enrollment of 34,133 during the 2009-2010 school year. Within the 75 square miles of our district, we serve residents of Collin and Denton Counties and residents of Frisco, and some portions of Plano, Little Elm, and McKinney. FISD is 30 miles north of Dallas. With available bond funds, the district has monies to serve the needs of up to 52,000 students – these funds will allow us to grow to 44 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, and 7 high schools with the design of an 8th. Funds are also available to continue purchasing school sites, to maintain and renovate existing campuses as they age, to maintain security, to expand and upgrade technology.
