Italy's Sim-patia Goes High-Tech with Xirrus Wi-Fi


Sim-patia is a health residence, located near Como in Italy, and provides accommodation for disabled people who have both physical and cognitive problems. The structure is built to shelter 28 disabled people with the intention of making them achieve the best life condition with primary and rehabilitation services. The goal of the project is to encourage disabled people in a social interaction and allow them to experience the freedom of high technology. The Sim-patia project is developed from a technical, economical and social point of view where the analysis of technological opportunities of wideband access, which allows high speed data transfer and a better quality to communicate with external world, and then the application of the existing technology into a structure in a user-friendly atmosphere. The results are beneficial consequences for the disabled people in means of communication.
