"Not only are we thoroughly covered with our wireless access, but the entire school district can now push forward with its focus on 1:1 initiatives for all students, which will enhance learning."
-Karl Buchanan, technology director for Wasatch County School District
Xirrus and Stoneware have teamed together to address the classroom challenge facing campus IT staff. The influx of mobile devices presents two critical challenges, how to deal with the much greater client densities while maintaining the higher performance and classroom device management in a BYOD world. The following capabilities are delivered with a Xirrus/ LanSchool solution:
-
High Density/High Performance Design
-
Device Identification and Policy enforcement
-
Classroom Management Tools for Effective Teaching & Enhanced Learning
High Performance Infrastructure
As more wireless devices enter the classroom, the wireless network must be designed able to handle these increased numbers, while still providing the level of performance required. This can be accomplished by either adding more wireless access devices, or better yet, deploying higher performance access devices. The Xirrus Wireless Array was engineered to address the exploding densities; allowing IT administrators to add more bandwidth via the availability of more radios, not just more devices. Xirrus offers 2-16 radio Wireless Arrays, allowing a single device to do the work of up to 8 traditional APs; also means less cables, switch ports and time to deploy.
